- Rang in the new year from our apartment in East Nashville

- Bought our first house and moved out of our apartment of five years
- Assembled way too many pieces of IKEA furniture
- Learned the intricacies of digging a french drain, repairing drywall and demolishing a yard shed
- Found out that the house came with a pair of stray cats
- Paid more money than I ever care to to replace an HVAC, water heater and move an electrical panel
- Went to Home Depot more times in consecutive days than I ever have before
- Rode a lot of rollercoasters for the third time to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio with a college friend
- Put plate number three on the ceiling at Flying Saucer
- Saw Paul Simon and the Indigo Girls at Memphis in May
- Celebrated 10 years of marriage
- Watched slightly less hockey in the new season
- Saw a Ghostbusters movie
- Traveled to New York City for a conference, had my first subway ride and toured the September 11 Memorial
- Attended two weddings
- Spent a fair amount of time in a friend’s brewery that opened this year on the eastside
- Played a lot of pinball at work, as the office now has more than 20 machines
- Saw a few friends move away from town
- Lost count of how many large buildings were added to the Nashville skyline
- Worked with a group of friends towards reviving a familiar blog
- Went through the most trying time professionally as I have ever experienced
- Began taking mental health a bit more seriously than I had in the past
- Voted in the quadrennial election, spent the next month paying much closer attention to the news than I had the previous six
- Spoke for the first time professionally at DevOps Days Nashville about UX for the colorblind
- Saw a Star Wars movie
- Went to a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at church
- Left a startup after five years and a half years this past Friday
- Took my first break between jobs before the new one starts in January
