Ran in The Tennessean:

Eliminating Vanderbilt police leaves campus unprotected

The latest maneuvering by our state legislature to strip the Vanderbilt police force of its ability to protect the campus is just another example of misplaced priorities.

Rep. Mark Pody would rather endanger students and faculty than allow a private institution to have a non-discrimination policy in place for student organizations. How he can justify such reckless proposals is baffling.

I am glad Attorney General Bob Cooper had the good sense to stand up for common sense.
