Ran in the Tennessean and the Nashville City Paper

To the Editor:

It has been said that the best leader is one that doesn't aspire to leadership, but does so out of duty to his peers.

I am pleased to see that 18 members of the state Senate recognized this to be true, electing John Wilder to remain as Speaker. They saw that 34 years of dedicated service to his peers and the state of Tennessee was more important than the power-hungry political aspirations of others.

There are many challenges ahead for Tennessee. Let's get down to business.
