In about 36 hours, I'll be getting on a plane for California. It is shaping up to be my one business trip of the year, and I am more than okay with that. Spending nearly a week out there in the nice weather probably isn't going to make the Tennessee swelter feel any better when I get back, but it will be a nice respite. It's a learning conference, so my mind will be fixated on load balancers and server templates moreso than the climate.

It is actually shaping up to be a very busy summer. A lot to adjust to on the work front, somewhat frequent diversions on the home front. I catch bits and pieces of the news, most of it from The Daily Show. Between illness and assigned heavy reading for work, it is little wonder my brain feels fried and that I have little time for much else.

A friend of mine did invite me on a trip that involves copious amounts of roller-coasters next month. So why the hell not?
