- Moved from Goodlettsville to East Nashville, easily the best decision we made this year.
- Old PPC Mac mini suffered its second hard-drive failure, replaced it a few months later.
- Learned that filing taxes does not mean refund. Still managed not to change our political stripes.
- Bought a lot of replacement furniture and a new washer/dryer unit.
- Protested a local celebrities poor taste in exterior lighting.
- Became more comfortable in our new surroundings, spent way too much money eating out.
- Ran in nine different races (eight 5Ks, one 5 miler), improved my average pace by about a minute and fifteen seconds. Still haven't broken the 40 minute mark for a 5K.
- Saw major legislative victories on a national stage and some pretty silly stuff in the state capitol.
- Found the one drawback to living near a popular restaurant.
- Attended my second PodCamp Nashville, participated in the downtown Art Crawl.
- Went to a lot more hockey games than I have years in past, a few times with this lady and her "manager".
- Watched my hockey club get bounced from the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs to the eventual champion. Again.
- Saw my city respond to the single worst natural disaster since the civil war in a way only Nashville could.
- Had an overnight trip to Memphis for a political event -- one of the few mini-vacations we got this year.
- Interviewed by The Tennesseean for a story on social networks and real-life friendships, was not all that impressed with the final outcome.
- Used my inner-country boy to handle a situation involving headless chickens.
- Attended my first roller derby.
- Flew to Utah by way of Denver, adding two new states to my visited list. Made the same trip again later in the year.
- Saw former President Bill Clinton, former Vice President Al Gore and current Vice President Biden. First time I have ever been to see a former or sitting members of the executive branch.
- Completed my first year with Centresource, promoted to middle-management.
- Replaced Samantha and my iPhone's, only to expect them to be obsolete in a few months.
- Celebrated four years of marriage to my lovely wife.
- Participated in my third BarCamp Nashville.
- Attended two Way Late Play Date events at the Adventure Science Center.
- Watched as our state became a punch-line on the late-night comedy circuit.
- Bought our first set of living-room furniture that was not a hand-me-down.
- Went on my second Centresource Retreat, one of my favorite annual events that our company does.
- Launched a string of websites this year for my wife's freelance business.
- Voted in the statewide races even with so many forgone conclusions on the ballot.
- Deeply moved by the passing of a nine-year old girl.
- Went on my first road trip for a professional sports team to Atlanta to see a hockey game.
- Had my wisdom teeth removed.
