Samantha and I are fast approaching our year mark in Goodlettsville after living only six months in Bellevue (both communities in and around Nashville, Tenn.). Around this this time last year, we were spending most of our free time on apartment hunter Web sites, reading reviews and figuring out the logistics of moving our humble [...]

In chronological order:

Attended my first trade show as part of the exhibiting crew
Redesigned my site to the “New Folder” theme
Replaced (and subsequently lost, replaced again) my cell phone
Moved to our new apartment in Goodlettsville
Bought a Nintendo Wii and sold our Playstation 2 and games
Attended Flugtag Nashville
Learned more than I probably ever wanted to about Amazon’s [...]

Two lines have defined the weekend. The first was on Friday in Green Hills at the Apple Store, where we waited thirty minutes or so to line up a “Genius” at the Genius Bar to have a look at my Mac mini. The diagnosis was not good, but expected. The hard drive had keeled over [...]

While a few of my co-workers and I were heading out to lunch, we passed these guys on our way through Goodlettsville. It is not everyday you see people riding horseback in a metropolitan area. I saw them again on the evening news.

In a story today about neighborhoods in south Nashville that are still a haven for real estate investors despite the market downturn, Robert Mohon had this to say (emphasis added):

About mid-way through the Nashville Predators game against Ottawa on Thursday, the NHL announced in a short statement that it had unanimously approved the sale of the team to a local group of investors. Sweet.

Predators 3, Red Wings 2
As part of our anniversary presents, Samantha bought us tickets to Thursday night’s Predators vs. Red Wings game at the Sommet Center. Thanksgiving hockey has become a bit of a tradition in Nashville, much like the annual game on New Year’s Day. It was a particularly important for the team as [...]

Last Friday, Samantha and I came home after a cruise around the northern suburbs to find our cable television and Internet out. I had in fact paid the bill on time (early, in fact), so I came to the conclusion that the error message on the screen was just the product of a [...]

As I write this, a helicopter is circling over head and at least three Metro and/or Goodlettsville Police officers are searching the creek bed near our apartment. I am certainly a bit confused, but I am relieved that we live on the third story of our building and have a Master Lock® Dual-Function Security Bar.

I’ve switched my site over to my “Nashvegas” theme, based on a photo I took with my cell phone at Flugtag. The theme’s title comes from this guy and totally does not violate his registered trademarks. Also of note, I have all references of my domain name switched over to “stephenyeargin.com” in case you [...]
