Street festivals are always an interesting mix of people, food and whatever the weather has in store. The Tomato Art Festival is no different. The local East Nashville artisans had dozens of booths set up along Woodland Street and South 11th Street in the Five Points area. As for food, we stopped by Nuvo Burrito’s grand opening (they have been open for a while now) for their interesting take on the popular Tex-Mex cuisine. After lunch, Samantha went on to the coffee shop to work on her writing projects while I took to the streets. The sun was bright, and while the heat journeyed well into the nineties, not too many folks were visibly uncomfortable.
When venturing over to that side of town, we are always impressed with the community’s ability to put on a show. The folks who put their time and energy into organizing the event did a terrific job. I snapped a few pictures along the way and posted them to Flickr.
