In recognition of tomorrow’s holiday, I humbly submit the following:

I am thankful for the friendships that have persisted and those that have grown in the past year. It is always a pleasure when we come together, whether that be to celebrate milestones or just dropping in for a quick meal while in town.

I am thankful that I live in a country that elects its leaders the same way in times of peace and times of war. I grateful that while the passions of an election year run high, most of us have returned to being friends and neighbors because we have a shared goal of moving our country forward.

I am thankful that I have a job doing the kind of work that I enjoy and continues to challenge me to think and to never become complacent. I am grateful for colleagues that can take ownership of any project while remaining available to lend assistance.

I am thankful for the discovery of our spiritual community, and look forward to continuing to grow through it. I am grateful for the peace, love and understanding in our community of faith.

I am thankful for self-discovery in which one learns more about themselves by way of their response to new circumstances. I am grateful that most of what I have learned has been a pleasant surprise.

I am thankful for a wife who is both a best friend and truly my better half. I see nothing but our bright future on the horizon and I am grateful that we both have the inner drive to reach it.

I count myself among the blessed this Thanksgiving.
