Just a quick note to anyone who has visited this site since May 26 using Microsoft Internet Explorer: Why did you leave me hanging? Of course I am kidding, but those 40 percent or so of visitors were likely confused by the utter mess this site had become since my last theme update.

The CSS validated. The XHTML validated. No errors in the javascript console, and the search engines just loved it. However, for users who still "Click the Blue E" likely saw what would happen if the underlying CSS framework (BlueprintCSS) were to not be loaded. Other browsers (like Firefox and Safari) understand what it means to include an @import url() directive in a CSS file: import that file and apply its rules. IE, on the other other hand, completely ignored it.

My household has not had a native Windows machine within its walls for quite some time, except for a boat anchor of a computer left over from Samantha's dorm room days. Even it has Ubuntu loaded on it in the event we ever decided to jettison it to someone who needs one. Both of our computers are PPC-based Macs, so we do not have many options when it comes to testing a site in Internet Explorer. We usually end up having to borrow a computer for that particular purpose.

Browsershots.org gives me access to a "farm" of sorts of computers running various operating systems and browsers. Looking at my Google Analytics report for the last month, it looks like I have not adequately accounted for the less than one percent of Internet users on the iPhone or Wii. Both of those groups should be taken care of by other versions of the same browser (WebKit and Opera) however.
