We did not get to bed last night until well past 2 a.m. because of the line of storms that hit the mid-south yesterday evening. On two occasions were holed up in the fitness center (away from the heavy equipment) of our apartment complex while our weather radio made an awful racket. I can thank the Coca-Cola company for still being mostly awake at this hour.

We have the evacuation routine down to a science, against all of my protests. Samantha believes in taking the proper precautions and intently focussing on radar images and approximate arrival times. My approach is to be alert (it is good to have a weather radio) but to not assume the worst possible scenario. Regardless, we headed out with her laptop, my Mac and a fire safe. I am sure many would grab family heirlooms or other such treasures. We take our computers.
