I'm wanting to say that there is a name for this period between Christmas and New Year's. December 26 is the "Day after Christmas," and December 31 is, of course, New Year's eve. So what about the 27, 28, 29 and 30? I propose we call these "Stephen's Christmas Vacation." These four days don't have a real aim, as I'll be spending them in now-thawing Martin, Tenn.

I'd wager to say that nobody else is in town, because most of them spend "Stephen's Christmas Vacation" at home with family. I can only imagine how quickly the Christmas spirit is wearing off for them. It's not that I wanted to get out of town to be away from my family as much as I just wanted to be here.

The Internet connection is dead in the front half of the office, but works in the ads department. The helpless desk, of course, is also observing "Stephen's Christmas Vacation." I suppose I should be unpacking and putting my computer back over at Scholars. That, and a few rounds at video games here and there wouldn't hurt either.

Happy New Year!
